Bliss Chief Executive, Caroline Lee-Davey

Caroline Lee Davey

Caroline joined Bliss as Chief Executive in November 2014; she also sits on the Executive Committee of the British Association of Perinatal Medicine, and is a member of the Maternal, Perinatal and Infant Independent Advisory Group. Before joining Bliss Caroline was the Director of Policy, Advice and Communications at Gingerbread, the single parent charity, where she led on policy and campaigning work as well as overseeing the delivery of multi-channel information and advice services. Caroline was previously Deputy Director of Communications, Policy and Campaigns at housing charity Shelter. Caroline is also a trustee of Crisis, the national charity for single homeless people, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Caroline says: "It’s a real privilege to work at Bliss and contribute to the great work achieved by Bliss staff, volunteers and supporters over many years to improve the lives of babies born premature or sick; and I particularly value each and every opportunity I have to meet the babies, families and neonatal health professionals that we support to hear first-hand experiences of how we’ve made a difference, and what more we can do in the future."

Head of Fundraising and Communications, David Boorman

David Boorman

The newest member of the leadership team, David joined Bliss as Head of Fundraising and Communications in October 2016. With 10 years' experience in fundraising and marketing, David has worked with charities such as Marie Curie, Muscular Dystrophy UK and the National Autistic Society to develop income growth and brand strategies across a number of fundraising streams and audiences. David also has an MSc in Charity Fundraising and Marketing from City University and sits on the advisory panel of fundraising think-tank Rogare.

David says: "It’s such an exciting time to be at Bliss. With an ambitious new strategy to reach every baby born premature or sick each year, we need the support of all the fantastic people who donate money or take on a challenge more than ever. But the hard work carried out by all of the staff and volunteers at Bliss, and the miracles performed every day by staff in hospitals across the UK, make me proud to be part of something so worthwhile. I know that together we can make such a huge difference."

Head of Services, Zoe Chivers

Zoe Chivers

Zoe has been at Bliss for eight years. As Head of Services she oversees our research work, the information we provide, support for parents from our volunteers as well as the training and development work with health professionals through the Bliss baby charter.  She also represent parents' views on several NHS working groups such as the Neonatal Critical Care Clinical Reference Group. Her previous experience has been in other charities supporting patient empowerment and in the corporate sector.

Zoe says: "What really motivates me is the passion and the enthusiasm to make the lives of babies as best as they can possibly be. I have seen many changes at Bliss over the years but what remains the same is the way we build strong relationships with health professionals, the NHS, parents and our supporters.  It is great seeing some of the babies that we have supported grow up and become advocates for the work that we do!"

Head of Finance and Operations, Paul Butler

Paul Butler

After training to be an accountant and a 19-year career in the City, Paul left stockbroking to work within the charity sector. Since then, he has had several directorships and senior management roles, ranging from international development to membership based charities and joined Bliss in March 2015. Paul specialises in finance, HR, IT, risk and business modelling. He likes nothing better than climbing mountains and playing his trumpet.

Paul says: "I consider Bliss to be a great place to work and I am motivated by being part of its mission and making a difference, managing the Charity’s finances and back office services."
